Challenge Mission 31: South Africa - Criminal Labor

Challenge Mission 31st is opened today.
Somehow Zynga decided to pick the old removed destination as the location, yeah it's South Africa. I was wondering if we, mafioso, are no longer have any business in South Africa then why would we even still do mafia 'missions' there. Anyway, as always this mission will last for 9 days with 3 chapters available that will be timely opened. The 2nd and 3rd chapter will be opened on day 3 and 6 respectively. So, my advise is do not rush it and waste your consumables in the first 2 chapters, unless you know what you're doing or pretty sure you will have enough consumables to finish off the mission.

Collector's Edition Items - Silver-Eared Mesia

Weekly Collector's Edition Item is here!!

For this friday, an animal item is released as a Collector's Edition item. The item has 329 attack and 395 defense and 6 bonus points, which is attack point for this edition.

Well I think that's all I can say on this one. Furthermore, I have more things to do in game... we have less than 2 days to finish Japan Urban Assault. I guess I will try search about this bird and write it here to give more insight to my reader and be more knowledgeable. *smiles*

Limited Time Property 59: Spa Retreat - Steam Guard

The 59th Limited Time Property is available for construction today. We have 16 days to build this property to level 15 maximum. As always, if you can fully upgrade it to level 15 within time limit, you will be rewarded a special item which this time is an armor called Steam Guard with 380 attack and 295 defense as shown below.

Each level completion gives you access (permanently) to build a new item and certain level upgrade bonus (only) during the event. The property introduces 4 new items with 3-5 range of grades for a total 15 items in snych with 15 levels you need to build. The best item accessable on level 15 is an item with +6 Energy bonus.

[Re-Open] Secret District 39: Such A Gem

This is a re-run or re-offer of the old 39th Secret District in Mafia Wars. The district is based in London city and to be able to open it you need to spend 27 reward points. The cost will be varied, depending on your district mastery completion last time. If it is fully open from bronze you are in it for +36 skill points. You have 8 days to decide whether to buy the entrance fee or just skip this offer. If you decided  to go for it, you are given 12 days to complete all 4 mastery tiers with 9 jobs on each mastery (which is total to 36 jobs = 36 skill points as I said before).

I will add more information later. Still undecided on buying this 'pay-to-play' district.

Mass Loot Updates

A routine monthly mass loot updates just take place in Mafia Wars.
The released loot items are for these areas:

• Fight Loot Generation 55
• Arena Loot Generation 37
• Declare War Tier 55
• Family Siege Loot Generation 6
• VIP Loot Generation 47

I might be incorrect on the generation number, but you get the idea which part of the game gets new loot items. And the details on them, you can see below:

Markdown Mayhem - Forklift Driver

A new marketplace promo, Markdown Mayhem, is available today. The rule still the same as you buy more limited edition items, you will get more discount rate at certain level marked by mastery reward items. You can buy anytime within the 7-days period and the discount rate will still the same depending your mastery level, which you can master up to Ruby Mastery Level. This is quite different if you compare to Frenzy Sale that you need to buy certain numbers of items within duration of time to get higher discount rate and bonus items zone '4'. This event does not have such thing as bonus zone 4 or timer on the discount rate.

Slaughter Season 23 - Recycling Expert

It's been awhile since last event started, and we have a stamina event today. Slaughter Season 23rd is open now! The grand prize for this season is a henchmen item with 351 attack and 424 defense at emerald grade. If you are a VIP you are given an extra day to get even higher grade which is VIP grade item with stat of 366 attack and 449 defense. Here is a screenshot of grade items and corresponding stats that you can get on this event:

Collector's Edition Items - Four Seasoner

TGIF!... and the new Collector's Edition Item is Four Seasoner.

I am not quite sure what it suppose to mean... I think it looks like a modified Recreation Vehicle fully equipped with everything to appear like a moving house. As far as I know, Four Season is a name of a well-known luxury hotel... so a hotel on a vehicle perhaps? Anyway this vehicle item has 394 attack and 328 defense and added bonus of 6 energy for the usual price tag of 46 reward points.

At the same time of this release, Zynga also give us a chance to buy previous collector's items in a bundle. Offered as a Collector's Special bundle with a price tag of $14, yep... not in reward points.

Arena Smashup 16

The last event released today is the 16th Arena Smashup.
This is a 7 day event for a fighter/stamina player. It has quite good rewards, because the added skill points on the grand prize items that you can get by exchanging required tokens. The token itself is rewarded to the top 10 players on the leaderboard, with rank 1 getting 25 tokens and for rank 10 getting only 1 token. Good thing about this is the leaderboard created for a league of 30 player of the similar strength., so I would say it would be a fair fight and equal chance for everyone. Not only getting tokens but the first 3 top players on the leaderboard are also getting daily reward item.

Urban Assault 16: Shifting Sands - DIY Blaster

Another event started today is the 16th Urban Assault. For those who has not finished (like me) the original-non-timer Los Angeles Urban Assault, this would be a burden to do. That would make it 3 urban assault events at the same time including the ongoing Japan Urban Assault that has about 11 days left on the timer.

Ok.. to make it simple, the Grand Prize for this urban assault is DIY Blaster with quite high stats of 448 attack 493 defense. There will be 3 mastery items, including the blasters available as mastery rewards, 10 items that comes with 3 grades (30 items total) and Power Up Boosts: 2 Reflectors, 10 Kamikazes, and 4 Stamina Refills from Reward Stations, and the last but not least 23 Reward Points and 67 Skill Points. Frankly all rewards available in this Urban Assault are exactly the same as all other urban assault events, the differences probably only the name and stat of the equipment reward items.

Heist: One For The Record

We have a new kind of event today. It is called Heist subtitles One For the Record. The Heist main target is to Steal the Master Record of the greatest rock album ever from Record Company HQ. There are a few new terms that you need to understand in this new event: Specialists, Training Ammos, and Heist Ammos. You start with three level 0 specialists that will help you on the heist.

Training ammos are needed to train up your specialist while Heist Ammos are used for completing objectives, by that you will then recognize them as consumables. And there are 5 objectives to be completed to achieve the main target. Each objective will grant you heist loot and bonus skill points. The first objective gives you bonus of 5 skill points and the 5th (last) objective will give you 30 bonus skill points. So if you manage to get them all done you will haul 80 skill points total.

Ice Cold Crates & Crate Carnival 27 - Porta Launcher

The new edition of marketplace crates, Ice Cold Crates, has been released today. Just like previous crates edition, this one has 8 new items in a set, 3 uncommon items, 3 rare items, and 2 superior items. For more details I will try (when I have time) to create a separate page for this crate and other crates.

The 27th Crate Carnival also started today along with the release of Ice Cold Crates. The Grand Prize for this event is a weapon Porta Launcher that has 319 attack and 420 defense with added bonus of 30 skill points. You have 7 days if you want to get the grand prize, but I don't think you need that long to spend hundreds of reward points to complete this marketplace event. Well, probably making a decision to spend your precious reward points would be the part that would take a long time.

Frenzy Sale: Under The Sea - Deep Sea Welder

Just like I said last time that we will be getting more and more marketplace events, today a Frenzy Sale marketplace promo has just started. The mastery item is a Henchemen called Deep Sea Welder, and at Ruby grade it has 420 attack and 331 defense. While the reward for Zone '4' Challenge is a fish with 336 attack and 425 defense. In case you need to read more information about this kind of event, you can search this blog by using keyword or label/tag "Frenzy Sale" for previous similar events.

Stat Card Stakes 55: Silver Streak - Street Dragster

The 55th set of Stat Card has just been released. Silver Streak is the theme now.

The Grand prize is a car Street Dragster, with an even stat of 439 on attack and defense and some bonus skill points. The rules are still the same. If you are not familiar yet with this kind of event, on the bottom of this post you can find labels and click on the link next to it that says Stat Card Stakes. It will bring up all similar old posts of this event and you can read them to find out more.

Siege Leagues 5 - Psycho Mask

A new season of siege started today. The grand prize for this season is an armor Psycho Mask that has 397 attack and 356 defense with added bonus of 50 skill points which will be granted to all players in the Top 5 Rank. Since I have not yet joined any family, I cannot say more about it. Most of the family in mafia wars seem to require us to have high stats before able to join them. So I guess I need to find the right family with lenient requirements and that gathers up just for the fun of it.

Collector's Edition Items - Campground Host

It's Friday... that means a new collector's edition item!
A new Henchmen item Campground Host is released for Collector's Edition Items. The henchmen stat is 393 attack and 327 defense with bonus 10 health points. Pretty reasonable for a campground host to have bonus health because of the work they have to do, but I don't suppose Zynga ever think that far to decide what's what in this game. They just put bonus stat on the item and get done with it, perhaps they throw a dice with each side represents attack, defense, energy, stamina and health, and one more side with blank option that means they have to throw the dice again... Hahaha, just kidding about the dice and stuff, but anyway it's good that now they keep remembering to add the special tag on the item.

The question is: are you going to buy this Collector's Item?

7 Day Deal: Victorian Times

Today the new 7 day deal event has just started with 7 new released items. The last marketplace promo was Markdown Mayhem about almost two weeks ago. I guess it is time of the month that we will start seeing more marketplace events. So, I am pretty sure in a few day or so, we will get bombarded with lots marketplace promos.

I do not want to say much more about this event because personally I am not a big fan of marketplace events, specially when you have to spend reward points... hehehe. Anyway, the seven new items released in this event are as follows:

Extortion Run 6: Ricardo - Spiky Clamp

We have an Extortion Run event started today. This is the 6th in its event category. The business owner that you need to rough up this time is Ricardo who apparently owns a Taco shop. Extortion Run event has 15 levels of fear meter. You need to rough up the business owner and increase the fear meter to unlock items on every levels and get extra rewards on certain levels.

There are a few ways you can increase your fear meter. You can get 6 rough ups from your friends for each 'Ask' feed that you can post every 3 hours and only 5 rough ups from a 'Brag' feed when you brag about your level up fear meter. On the other hand you can only get a maximum 8 rough up counts per day by clicking your friends' 'Ask' feeds and a maximum 2 counts per day from clicking your friends' 'Brag' feeds. So you main sources are your own ask feeds and the kindness of your mafia efforts on clicking them. Also, you will need to do more and more rough ups per level as your fear meter increases.

Killer Instinct 14 - Penny Furthering

We have a fighter event today, the 14th Season of Killer Instict. Pretty simple event by collecting crests from arena, either shootout or mob fury. You need to collect certain number of crests to get an item prize called Penny Furthering. The item comes in 4 grades up to ruby which has 400 attack and 319 defense. For bronze you need 25 crests, and for silver, gold and ruby you need 100, 250 and finally 500 crests respectively. The crest itself is awarded by certain killing blow criteria, for more details you can see below:

VIP Exclusive Mission Event: One Last Job

A new VIP Exclusive Mission Event is released today. Sadly I am not a VIP, so I cannot talk much more about it. It looks like the grand prize is the Rugby Coach with Gold grade item just like the banner shows. It has 409 attack and 324 defense.

Offshore Turfs 8: Isla Espiritu Santo

We have a late start event again today, if not mistaken around 3pm PST (Zynga server time). The event I am talking about is the 8th Offshore Turfs in Mexico which is the 47th Secret District in Mafia Wars all time. It is subtitled Isla Espiritu Santo, which is also a name for your home turf while the rival turf is called San Jose Island. You can master both locations up to 4 times and get the final grade item of Ruby Mastery on each turf.

If you managed to ruby mastered your home turf, you will be rewarded a vehicle Beach Ranger with 320 attack and 421 defense. Also if you can master the rival turf to ruby, you will get another reward which is an armor Tusker Boot with 431 attack and 340 defense. Mastering each turf is independent, you don't need silver mastery of home turf to be able to master the rival turf to ruby. However to be able to get to rival turf for the first time you have to complete home turf bronze mastery.

Lucky Break 14

Another event also started today is the 14th Lucky Break. It will run for 5 days period with new reward that comes in 3 grades every single day for a total of 15 items. You start by revealing your card of the day and you will get 21 of it. Then you need to collect numbered cards and vault them to get the rewards. For bronze grade of the items you will need 1 card, for silver 2 different cards and 3 different cards for gold grade. Each successful vault the cards required will be shuffled and the quantity of each cards will be increased. Each day you can get maximum 15 pieces, 5 of each grade of the daily reward.

Today, we have the first operations for this year which is also the 27th Operations in its own category event. The operations titled South African Mutiny. You have 10 days to get the highest grade grand prize item which is emerald grade of Gatka Fighter with 307 attack and 420 defense.

The Stranger's Swag 50: Cliff Diver

We have late update event today, but it is normal schedule just like previous similar event like this. It is nonetheless the infamous The Stranger's Swag for the 50th edition. I have posted 2 different swag items today, so I expect to see the other two in the next 2 days. Hopefully I could get all 4 this time, unlike last time I (probably most of us) did not get an offer for posting the 4th item.

For this first day, I get to post request for Cliff Diver and Pinocchio Frog. Same rule still apply... you can get a maximum 5 items: two from clicking other player's feed and another three when other players clicking on your feed.

Collector's Edition Items - Puffed Chest

The second item for this year's Collector's Edition Item is released today. It is a jacket covered with quills, Puffed Chest that has 326 attack and 392 defense with added bonus of 6 defense.

Surprisingly, they remember again this time to put the collector's tag on the image. Good job Zynga, you started the year with quite a few good remarks. I think I am going to buy this one too just like last time I decided to buy it because I promise myself to get one of the collector's item if they put back the tag.

Though I still think the price is kind of steep for this item. It's an item for 46 reward points that will outdated in a month or so and only have +6 defense bonus on it. If I spend reward points on skills, I could probably get 16-18 skill points with the same amount.

Lucky Streak 22 - Quill Crown

We have another event started today, it is the 22nd Lucky Streak. The grand prize looks like a pointed-wizard-hat called Quill Crown with 451 attack and 501 defense (Ruby grade). This event runs for 21 days and we should get 1 free spin daily. But just like before I am pretty sure we only get free spins for a few days in the beginning of the event, probably 5-7 free spins total.

There are 20 new items available but you only need to get specific set of items to advance thru each mastery up to Ruby for a total of 12 different items. 4 specific items to get bronze mastery, another 3 items to get silver mastery, then another 3 items again to get to gold mastery and finally 2 items to complete the run and earned the grand prize mastery ruby grade.

Slaughter Season 22 - Octo Heel

The 22nd Slaughter Season has just started today. This time the grand prize is called Octo Heel, reminds me the new item we have for daily take with a slight modified appearance. You need to collect pennants which you get by icing players on the fight list or in the shoutout arena and mob fury arena. On the fight list the opponents will be categorized in 3 different difficulties: Easy, Medium and Hard which will give you 1, 2 or 3 pennants respectively if you manage to get a final blow to ice them. And you have to advance through 6 different tiers: bronze, silver, gold, ruby, diamond, and emerald. Each tier will require more and more pennants to advance which at emerald tier you will need 6000 pennants. If you are a VIP you can go further up to VIP tier, you need 10000 pennants, which will grant you an VIP item with 446 attack and 363 defense. While for most of us regular or free to play players, we can get the most up to Emerald tier which will grant us an Emerald item with 421 attack and 348 defense.

Good news for those who still working on Japan Urban Assault. There are 2 tasks in that event that you can do simultaneously and get counted at the same time. Both tasks and the Slaughter Season requires you to collect some ices (or pennant in the case of Slaughter Season). So we can say "Killing three birds with one stone", yeah that's right not two but three different problems at one time. For every single ice count you get, it will be counted on all those three tasks. I have not gone that far but the two tasks I am referring are the one on the most right node and another one on the bottom near the last node. I will add the screenshot once I get that far.

Daily Take 14 & Daily Fix 30 loot updates

Daily Fix - 30th Generation - Squad Rover [219/305]

The old reward item for daily fix which was Smooth Toadfish has been replaced by a new one today. Starting today we get Squad Rover that has 219 attack and 305 defense. It is a vehicle item which probably does not help much for most of us who has 700k+ mafia defense. But free items are still free items, need not to complain about it other than seeing it collecting dust on your inventory.

Daily Take - 14th Generation

And today the reward items for daily take has been updated as well.
The stats are average around 235 and 304 on attack or defense. Here are the new set of five items:

Markdown Mayhem - Cog Watch

A marketplace event, Markdown Mayhem, just started today. This is a 7-day event that requires you to spend reward points to buy Limited Edition loot items. Last markdown mayhem lasts for 6 days, not sure why this time it has a 7 days period. Or I might remember it incorrectly, anyway you need to purchase 39 items to get to ruby level and earn the ruby reward item called Cog Watch with 359 attack and 423 defense.

As you progress through the level mastery, you will get higher discount rate on your purchases. Each level of mastery needs certain number of purchases to advance. In the end if you reach the ruby level, you will get a total bonus of 52 skill points.

Not really much to say about this event. For me it's a boring event... actually I should not say it as an event at all because you don't need to do much other than buy reward points, spend them all on loot items and get mastery loot item. This sounds more like shop-till-you-drop activity.

Collector's Edition Items - Knuckle Slasher

The very first Collector's Edition Item we have for this year is Knuckle Slasher. It is a weapon type item with 325 Attack and 391 Defense, with +6 Stamina bonus. I am somewhat feel disappointed but also a bit happy with this new collector item.

I feel disappointed because with all of the christmas and new year's things still around us, I was hoping they will release something related. Perhaps a candy cane gun, a red nosed reindeer or maybe henchemen of Santa's Helpers or something similar. However, I am quite surprise that they put back or remember to add the tag on the image. Now, look at the image I posted... isn't it better like that than without the tag? That for sure will point out that this item is special, not from drop or any event but only from Collector's Edition Item series!!

Japan Urban Assault: Japan Pleasures - In-Vested

First of all... Happy New Year 2016 to you all mafia wars players around the world :)
We should make up a calllname for a mafia war player, or perhaps there already is and I just don't know yet, hehe.

Here we have the first event in the 2016.
It looks like we are starting this year with an Urban Assault event.
If we continue the numbering of similar events, this would be the 15th Urban Assault.

This Japan Urban Assault will be available for 30 days, so we got  full month to complete it and get a special reward item named In-Vested with 390 attack 445 defense with a special bonus or benefit that you will receive for 10 days after the event ends provided that you completed every single tasks. The benefit here is you can get one favor token for Japan Syndicate jobs.

This event will gives us a possibility of getting a total of 33 items: 10 items with three different grades for completing 10 three-tiered missions, and 3 items as rewards from completing 3 main targets.

will try to add all the missions or tasks that are available to me, because I am pretty sure not going to finish it just like the other previously released urban assault events.
